What grinds my gears is that there should never be a need for ANY of these veteran charities. The federal government has a very small list of responsibilities directed by the Constitution and vets fall into the “provide for the common defence” category (see Article I, sec 8 – U.S. Constitution). Every time I see a commercial asking us for money or even some bumper sticker I get ticked off.
But hey, I’m sure they have much more important projects that the federal government needs to spend our money…. like $3,000,000 on Why Are Lesbians Fat? Good job government. Good job.
While the government is racing to re-prioritize their spending, please continue to contribute and support the Wounded Warrior Project and other charities like it. Don’t forget, though, to call your representative and ask them why you had to.
